Bayer needed custom ecommerce that’d integrate seamlessly with their LMS of choice to provision courses. As a Global Fortune 500 company, Bayer not only accepted customers with multiple currencies, languages, and payment methods across APAC and the EU, but also a custom integration for SAP.

Founded more than 150 years ago, Bayer is a global enterprise with core competencies in the Life Science fields of healthcare and agriculture. In their continuing effort of providing innovative solutions to their customers, Bayer CropScience business initiated a program to offer online trainings to upgrade the skills in the pest management industry, via an LMS. This program started in the Asia-Pacific region, and has expanded into the EU, with further expansion planned.
The Challenge
Bayer’s long-established business processes, the newness of any ecommerce within Bayer, the incredibly specific requirements, and strict privacy and security policies all combined to make this implementation one of our most challenging to date. Different regions that the solution would be rolled out required not only different languages, but also entirely different sets of payment methods and merchant accounts. Further, an incredibly tight Single Sign-On (SSO) and provisioning integration with Bayer’s LMS, as well as different custom accounting requirements per region, amped up the difficulty.
The Solution
This was truly a situation where Foxy was the ideal solution to a very complex problem. As part of Foxy’s Enterprise Plan, we provided Bayer with a custom serverless integration to manage a SAML-based SSO solution and API-based integration with their LMS. Custom SAP exports and multilingual, multi-currency, and multi-gateway functionality got Bayer the functionality they needed. Hugely helpful was the team at Bayer, who provided fantastic communication and thought-leadership throughout the process.
